ASBURY LANES

In 2017, once again partnering with Anda Andrei, and the design team from Bonetti Kozerski, iStar set out to re-imagine a historic bowling venue that had become an increasingly important part of Asbury Park’s legendary music scene. The goal was to preserve the unique character of the original Asbury Lanes while bringing it back to life with a modern twist that would elevate it to a national stage. Recognizing its significance to the local community as an independent music venue, iStar partnered with renowned entertainment booking agent, The Bowery Presents, to bring both national and local acts to the Lanes.

The venue was re-born in June 2018, with Bruce Springsteen performing to begin a new chapter in its storied history. As a result of the significant investment, the number concertgoers that the venue could accommodate was increased by more than four times, and a new diner was added to bring late-night food options to the waterfront. Beyond just restoring a building with cultural and community significance, Asbury Lanes is now well-positioned to serve the Asbury Park music community for decades to come.
